Everything You Need to Know About Fishin' Frenzy Christmas
Fishin' Frenzy Christmas takes Blueprint Gaming's popular fishing franchise into the arctic for a festive twist on the collect-and-win formula. This 5-reel, 3-row video pokie with 10 paylines combines the thrill of reel fishing with Christmas cheer, creating a unique gameplay experience that Australian players will love. Blueprint Gaming has refined this collect-and-win formula across the franchise, including the high volatility sequel with Rapid Fire Jackpots that features fisherman wilds collecting prize fish worth up to 2500x.
Core Game Mechanics
The base game features standard left-to-right wins across 10 fixed paylines. Symbol values range from low-pay card symbols (10, J, Q, K, A) adorned with snow, through to premium symbols including the Christmas Life Ring wrapped in lights, the Fishing Reel with candy cane handle, the festive Pelican wearing a striped scarf, and the valuable Treasure Chest overflowing with ornaments.
What sets this pokie apart are the fish symbols. Every fish that lands displays a monetary value and adds to the fishing net positioned above the reels. These aren't just decorative - they're integral to the game's most exciting features.
The Festive Fishing Feature
As you spin, fish symbols accumulate in the net suspended above the reels. When enough fish gather, the net bursts and you're taken to the Pick a Fish screen where three Santa-hat-wearing fish appear. Select one to reveal your bonus:
- Instant cash collect from accumulated fish values
- Free Games bonus with enhanced features
- Multiplied reel wins with boosted payouts
Free Games and Wild Collection
Landing three or more Christmas fishing boat scatter symbols awards free games: 10 for three scatters, 15 for four, or 20 for five. During free games, the Fisherman Wild symbol becomes active. This is where the magic happens. The free games feature here mirrors the mechanics in Fishin' Frenzy Jackpot King pokie, which awards 10, 15 or 20 free spins and activates the Wild Fisherman to catch prize fish across 10 paylines.
Each Fisherman Wild that lands collects the prize values from all fish symbols visible anywhere on the reels at that moment. If multiple fishermen land on the same spin, they each collect independently, potentially delivering huge combined wins. Fish values during the bonus can range from 2x to 50x your bet, with the rare Golden Fish carrying the maximum multiplier.
The Pick a Fish Upgrade Trail
At the start of free games, you trigger a Pick a Fish selection to activate an upgrade. These range from adding extra fish symbols to the reels, introducing more Fisherman Wilds, awarding re-spins, or granting additional free games.
The upgrade trail advances each time a Fisherman lands during free games, unlocking new Pick a Fish opportunities. Progress through the trail to reach multiplier levels of x2, x3, and ultimately x10, where every win during those free games is multiplied tenfold.
RTP and Volatility Considerations
Fishin' Frenzy Christmas operates at 93% RTP, which sits below the Australian player average of around 95-96%. This means the game keeps slightly more of wagers over time compared to many other pokies. The volatility leans medium to high, typical of collect-mechanic games where you're often building toward larger bonus features rather than frequent small base game wins.
The maximum win of £250,000 or 50,000x bet means serious potential for big wins, particularly when you combine fully upgraded free games, multiple Fisherman Wilds, and high-value Golden Fish symbols. The 50,000x bet ceiling matches the payout structure of Fishin' Frenzy Even Bigger Fish 2 Rapid Fire, which pushes the potential further with 4096 ways to win and a five-tier Rapid Fire Jackpots system.
