Base Game Mechanics
The Big Catch 2 operates on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 10 fixed paylines running left to right. In Standard Play mode, the reels display a full symbol set including high-value themed symbols (Fisherman, Pelican, Fishing Reel, Life Preserver, Tackle Box), card symbols (A, K, Q, J, 10), and the special Scatter boat symbol. Only the highest win per payline is paid.
Free Spins Feature Explained
Land 3, 4, or 5 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to trigger 10, 15, or 20 free games. During free spins, fish symbols appear on the reels displaying multiplier values from 2x to 50x your base stake. When a Fisherman Wild lands on the same spin as fish symbols, it collects all visible fish prizes on screen and adds them to your total win for that spin.

Fish Upgrade System
During free spins, collect 4 fish upgrade symbols (displayed as a leaping fish icon) to trigger an upgrade. This removes the lowest-paying fish tier from the reels and replaces it with the next tier up. For example, if the 2x fish is the lowest, it upgrades to the next available value. Each upgrade also awards 5 additional free games, allowing the feature to extend significantly.
Worms Accumulator Mechanic
The Worms bucket symbol (marked as ANY) is a special accumulator. When worms appear on screen during free spins, they gather all fish values visible on the reels before the fisherman collects them. This creates a prize pool that the fisherman then collects in its entirety, effectively multiplying the collection potential on a single spin.
Power Play Mode Strategy
Activate Power Play to transform the reels. All card symbols (A, K, Q, J, 10) and standard themed symbols are removed, leaving only fish symbols, fisherman wilds, scatter symbols, and shell fillers. This increases the frequency of fish symbols and the fisherman wild appearing together, raising the probability of triggering and maximising the free spins feature. Power Play uses a separate stake adjustment.
Symbol Values and Payouts
High-value symbols include the Fisherman and Pelican (200.00 £ for 5 of a kind at £5 stake), Fishing Reel (100.00 £), Life Preserver and Tackle Box (50.00 £ each). Card symbols pay between 5.00 £ and 10.00 £ for five of a kind. All payouts scale proportionally with your stake. During free spins, fish prizes range from 2x to 50x base stake multipliers, with the fisherman wild paying up to 1,000.00 £ for five of a kind.
